On Friday, June 30, 2023, our beloved friend Dr. Rick Miller passed away. Rick had been ill for a couple of years and it appeared he was making a comeback; it was delightful for many of us to see him at the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association meeting in Albuquerque, NM in April 2023.
Rick was a leader among leaders. He served as chair of the psychology departments at the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Texas A & M University – Kingsville. He served as President of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology and the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association – and these leadership examples merely scratch the surface of his contributions. He was a prolific researcher and an award-winning teacher on a national level on multiple occasions.
We will dearly miss Rick. Our condolences go out to Jeanne and to everyone in Rick’s family – and that includes his colleagues and his teaching of psychology friends worldwide.
