In this episode Eric interviews Stephanie Afful from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO. Stephanie shares stories from her life of difficult challenges, from pivoting through COVID, not earning tenure at a prior institution, to mourning the loss of her brother. In her words, she “falls forward” into better situations in her career, optimistically creating her own silver-lining. We discuss graduate school training, how teaching is framed, the legendary Jim Korn, and the importance of an undergraduate advisor in Stephanie’s academic development.
